Jerk
The jerk is the last part of the second lift contested in weightlifting. The lifter begins with the bar on his shoulders, and in a one motion, drives it overhead while splitting the legs to catch the weight with locked arms. This exercise demands high levels of technical skill, strength, speed, and coordination, making it a fundamental component of Olympic weightlifting.
